CEPEDA CASTILLO, Edwin Alejandro  y  VELASCO SAMANIEGO, Víctor Medardo. Influence of material cultural heritage on sustainable tourist development, canton Colta, Chimborazo province. ReHuSo [online]. 2022, vol.7, n.2, pp.29-45.  Epub 05-Ago-2022. ISSN 2550-6587.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.6522804.

Material cultural heritage refers to the group of elements that make up the heritage of a people, keep alive the stories, ways of thinking and living of the ancestors and that are transmitted from generation to generation. The Colta canton, considered as the cradle of the Puruhá nationality, is the owner of attractions with great tourist potential, which require comprehensive actions that allow the adaptation of sustainable products for the benefit of the inhabitants. Nowadays, cultural tourism constitutes one of the alternatives that are part of the new tourist trends, which seek not only enjoyment but also cultural learning. Hence, the objective of this research article is coupled, being to analyze the influence of material cultural heritage on the sustainable tourism development of the Colta canton, as a scientific, reasoned and grounded basis that allows making decisions and productive and efficient strategies, based on tourism. as an alternative for local dynamization. This mixed descriptive research allowed us to know that the local population is significantly rooted and convinced of the potential of their territory, since they frame within a very important and important range movable property (88%), real estate (82%), real estate documentaries (84%) and archaeological goods (88%) with respect to the sustainable tourism development of the canton. Statistically, with a Chi-square value of 0.000, the alternative hypothesis that corresponds to the incidence of material cultural heritage in sustainable tourism development is affirmed, with the necessary bases to promote new strategies and improvement projects for the inhabitants of the Colta canton
