Resumen

CHAVEZ SANCHEZ, Henry Gabino. Quality of Peruvian scientific journals and their impact on national research. ReHuSo [online]. 2022, vol.7, n.1, pp.51-66.  Epub 03-Abr-2022. ISSN 2550-6587.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5814056.

This research identifies that Peruvian scientific journals meet the quality criteria based on the review of the indexing databases and the impact factor (Latindex, DOAJ, Redalyc, SciELO, Scopus and WoS) recognized in the scientific community. Likewise, know the thematic areas and / or lines of research of the aforementioned scientific publications with an impact factor. The study is quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental, in which a metadata record sheet of the Peruvian scientific journals was designed and the databases specified in the study were analyzed by means of a search by country and period of publication. The result of the investigation shows that there are 125 journals registered in Latindex, 81 in DOAJ, 19 in Redalyc, 34 in SciELO, 11 in Scopus and 25 in WoS. Only 10 Peruvian journals are found in the 3 databases with an impact factor at the same time, which represents less than 10 percent of the publications identified, 100 percent of the journals with an impact factor are from universities. It is concluded that there is a small number of Peruvian scientific journals with an impact factor, the identified subject areas are basic sciences, social sciences and agrarian sciences. The implementation of an observatory is recommended to meet the impact scientific journals
