Abstract The libraries' theoretical contribution and documentation on Covid-19 themes has been fundamental in understanding the context of the pandemic that has afflicted humanity. Faced with the confinement that was established in Ecuador from 16 March 2020, institutions and agencies of various kinds had to look for alternatives to provide their services and libraries were not the exception. Primarily digital access was initially the option to obtain library documentation, and other procedures were subsequently sought. Incidentally, the World Health Organization (WHO) has long used the word infodemia to refer to the false information overload and its rapid spread among people and the media. In any case, it is clear that people must have access to accurate information to protect themselves and others. Libraries must therefore provide truthful information to a wider audience. At present, digital environments are considered a documentary space, organised through a set of electronic pages that are presented in a hierarchical manner in such a way that the user links in a better way to the information providers websites in an efficient way. In this context, the purpose of this research work was to analyze the contribution of the Pedro Elio Cevallos Public Library in the canton of Portoviejo, on health issues and information regarding Covid 19. The contribution of this study becomes preponderant, even more if one considers that in times of pandemic there is a lot of disinformation circulating on the Internet in various sites. For this reason, libraries, like the one analyzed in this paper, have consolidated as an institution that provides rigorous data and first-hand and reliable information to the public and, mainly, to users.
