Introduction: Medical Sciences professionals are not sufficiently prepared to search for information that facilitates decision-making in their professional performance. Objective: to evaluate the effectiveness of educational interventions carried out through information literacy on the sources of information on Natural and Traditional Medicine available on the Infomed portal. Methodological design: a pre-experimental educational intervention study was carried out in the period from March 2017 to November 2018.The population consisted of 47 professionals who participated in the pre- and post-event courses of the I and II Provincial Day of Natural and Traditional Medicine to which a survey was applied to determine the level of knowledge that they had on the subject before beginning the course and they went back to survey the year (I day) and six months after imparted (II day). Results: before the pre and post-event courses, 40.4% did not know the accessible resources from Infomed, 69.56% did not know the Virtual Health Library; After the courses all the professionals know the sources of information on Natural and Traditional Medicine available in this informative resource. Conclusions: the pre and post-event courses as an educational intervention were considered effective.
