Abstract

VERA SANCHEZ, Ludys Johanna  and  ALAY GILER, Alba. Abuse in the family as a risk factor for antisocial behavior in adolescents. ReHuSo [online]. 2021, vol.6, n.1, pp.23-40.  Epub Apr 03, 2021. ISSN 2550-6587.  https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5512717.

Family abuse constitutes a risk factor that can generate negative and antisocial attitudes in adolescents, despite the changes in family coexistence paradigms that are promoted through the approval of laws and social policies, it is a present phenomenon, to a greater or lesser extent ,in all societies. In Latin American countries specifically in Ecuador, there is a deficit of scientific literature dedicated to identifying the incidence of family abuse in the behavior of adolescents, for this reason, this research aimed to examine the risk factors that arise in the family context and its influence on the antisocial behavior of adolescents in the second year of high school at the Informative Educational Unit in Portoviejo, Manabí, Ecuador. The study was developed under a mixed quantitative and qualitative approach supported by a descriptive observational methodology. To obtain results, techniques and instruments were used such as the survey, psychological observation, psychological interview and test of perception of family relationships. The information obtained for each variable was statistically analyzed, establishing gender differences in the analysis of results. As main conclusions, it was established that there is no significant difference between women and men according to the background of structure, coexistence and constitution of the family nucleus. The impact of conduct disorder is due to multifactorial issues and is manifested through: violation of the rights of others, deception, violation of social norms or rules, assaults on people, and serious breach of the rules and regulations of disciplines.
