A descriptive study with a quantitative approach was carried out, the objective of which was to analyze the importance of information literacy in the students of the UTM presential modality leveling course. The explanation of topics related to the study problem was made. The methodology used in the work led to the fulfillment of the proposed objectives. The population of this study was 71 approved leveling students face-to-face modality of the Librarianship, Documentation and Archive, 2020 period of the Technical University of Manabí and the sample was 100% of the population.
