A descriptive study was carried out, whose objective is to characterize issues related to the gender approach, gender violence and public policies from the Social Sciences and the vision from the Ecuadorian sphere. The method of documentary content analysis was used in the theoretical foundation exposed from the literature review carried out. For international contextualization, journals from the Web Of Science and Scopus databases that deal with these issues from the Social Sciences were consulted. Likewise, to capture the national references, more specific searches on Ecuador were conducted in Google Scholar. As a result, the incidence of several laws, regulations, plans and programs that have been elaborated from the Presidency of the Republic of Ecuador itself, as well as from the National Assembly and of ministries such as Education. As conclusions, the joint work between all social sectors and government agencies and institutions is suggested so that these policies are implemented as they have been conceived and gender violence is eradicated in Ecuadorian society.
