This work is inserted in the thematic line of using Youtube as an educational communication channel and as a relevant tool for learning. The aim is to examine the potential of Youtube as a means of sharing knowledge. This is a descriptive study, using the documentary analysis method. Empirical work was carried out on high school teachers of the Educational Unit 5 de Junio in the city of Manta, Manabí, Ecuador. The results of this research show that the teachers have knowledge of this tool and therefore it is used for academic purposes to support the teaching process learning with the students. It is concluded that the use of Youtube is an opportunity for innovation in education and an ally of the training process and that it is frequently used by teachers for academic purposes. The progress of this study is in line with the use of educational opportunities offered by this type of network. The learning process of the various disciplines is facilitated by the inclusion of such resources.
