New Information and Communication Technologies (TIC) are increasingly challenging in academic processes. In order to do this, trainers need to acquire a series of skills that contribute to the construction of knowledge in accordance with what educational institutions and, above all, society demand. There is an academic vacuum that many teachers are not aware of. The fact is that teachers who are not prepared to face these new challenges fail to use innovative procedures. The study presented below explores the requirements and competencies that the current education requires of teachers. This is an optimistic view, a perspective that seeks to inquire into how new information and communication technologies have changed practices in contemporary academia. This is not a simple process, nor is this document intended to provide a comprehensive approach, but a particular one on a reality that involves and renews much of the current educational activity.
