Social prevention measures in the field of integral security taken due to causes of a social nature such as poverty, unemployment, dropping out of school, drug addiction, cultural characteristics that are exacerbating factors that generate threats to the integrity of the individual and collective bargaining. These contribute to the improvement of security conditions in urban environments and neighborhood, developing interventions aimed at the solution of problems and reduction of physical disorder in specific areas, which increases the participation, responsibility, cohesion and the reduction of fear that presents the Community with certain practices in public spaces that have been abused or have become vulnerable. This research analyzes the measures of social prevention present in the sector The Cherry Trees of the parish Andrés de Vera of the canton Portoviejo, for which quantitative method was used, with a contrast of exploratory cutoff. It was found that the lack of leadership influences the absence of measures that can be applied in the field of prevention. As a consequence, the community becomes fragile, making it impossible the implementation of these measures aimed at reducing the perception of insecurity and the odds of victimization of its inhabitants.
