The microcurricular development process is a challenge, it is a question of defining the development of a plan that involves the objective of the class, the activities, methodological strategies, resources and evaluation based on the specific content of a given subject. In this sense, the text presented below tries to determine the importance of microcurricular planning as a tool to innovate educational practices. In addition, it deepens its application in the elements of didactic planning framed in the field of innovation and for this it has taken as reference the group of teachers that works in the Fiscal Educational Unit "Edwin Hernán Mendoza Bravo", of the city of Portoviejo, province of Manabí, Ecuador. The research that was carried out was of an exploratory type, with a qualitative approach and a descriptive methodology supported by the review of bibliographic sources of the specialized literature. The instrument used was the survey and its results led to the conclusion that the development of microcurricular planning is part of the teaching work and that this in addition to having mastery in its subject must have the necessary creativity to carry out this course document, including innovative teaching strategies tailored to the needs of learners, content and resources available in the context.
