The objective of this work is to demonstrate that a School Library, as a recreational resource, strengthens learning in the Educational Unit Monserrate Álava de Gonzales and guarantees the satisfaction of the students' playful needs. The methodology used is descriptive and documentary analysis for the bibliographic review, as well as the historical - logical method for the organization of the ideas of the different authors. The school library and the recreational resources were delimited as a field of action, as well as to establish if the type of information made by the teacher leads to the logical development of skills and reading skills. Conclusions are described highlighting the feasibility of having a school library that motivates reading and through it the development of thinking, given that at present, students lack adequate reading habits as a means or tool to strengthen their learning. It is proposed to present a methodological proposal for the school library to become a resource center for teaching and learning, through the incorporation of sufficient tools to assist in the exercise of information literacy, analyzing as case study models Of digital libraries and digital educational platforms.
