The Digital culture has transformed communication processes and everyday interactions, both teachers and students increasingly use mobile devices to manipulate digital resources such as: social networks, e-mail, educational platforms, databases, forums, among a myriad of applications For educational, communication or entertainment purposes. The objective of this study is to analyze the (SDM) Minimum Digital Knowledge that the upper level students must possess to perform their academic training tasks, as well as to estimate the digital divide between students who come from the rural area and the urban area. The research is developed through the explanatory method. The design contemplates two stages: In the first one a documentary analysis was made, to base with theories the present work. In the second, the tab of digital knowledge schemes was applied based on the coincidences between reference frameworks proposed by Ramírez and Casillas (2015), considering only the indicators proposed by UNESCO, to identify the SDM and to determine the digital divide between students Of the career of Executive Secretariat of the Technical University of Manabí coming from the indicated geographic areas. The study allowed to identify the levels of minimum digital competences, to establish and analyze the digital divide, to finally propose alternatives that will reduce this gap and enhance these new scenarios of education.
