ROJAS-KRAMER., Carlos Alberto; CHAVEZ., Milka Escalera  e  VILLEGAS., Josefina del Carmen Santana. Impact of social network addiction on job performance. Revista San Gregorio [online]. 2023, vol.1, n.56, pp.84-101. ISSN 2528-7907.  https://doi.org/10.36097/rsan.v1i56.2401.

Nowadays, organizations make use of information and communication technologies to improve their processes. One of the most used interfaces used is social networks; however, their application within the company can become a problem as users become addicted to them. Therefore, the objective of this research was to determine the impact of social network addiction on the work performance of workers in the Boca del Río-Veracruz metropolitan area. The research approach is quantitative and explanatory. The sample consisted of a group of 52 employees from different companies. The measurement model was evaluated using Smart PLS 3.0. Convergent validity, discriminant validity, and reliability showed a positive and significant relationship between social network addiction and job performance (β=.304; ρ ˂0.05). The participants showed addiction to social networks that, in general, had not affected their work performance. On the contrary, through the use of social networks, they have managed to advance the objectives of their companies.

Palavras-chave : addiction; job performance; companies; social networks.
