Abstract

Emotional dependence affects people with unsatisfied affective needs and low self-esteem, who tries to excessively satisfy their parental affective deficiencies with their partners. The purpose of the research was to determine the level of emotional dependence on the partner in students of the National University of Huancavelica during the compulsory social isolation by Covid-19. The research is of a descriptive observational cross-sectional type, the population consisted of 1202 students with a sample of 627, from six professional careers, carried out in the second semester of 2020. The study refers to a predominance of mild emotional dependence in women, while the moderate and severe level prevails in men. In conclusion, one in three female students and half of the men present moderate or severe emotional dependence.
