MORENO, José Ascencio; PIN., Stalin Mendoza; BRAVO ACOSTA, Olga  e  HINOJOSA RAMOS, Miriam. Social perception of residents on the Spondylus route: influence on tourist satisfaction. Revista San Gregorio [online]. 2022, vol.1, n.52, pp.89-101. ISSN 2528-7907.  https://doi.org/10.36097/rsan.v0i52.2110.

The objective of this research was to examine the social perception of the communities of Olón, Montañita and Valdivia - Ecuadorian south coast with a wide tourist demand - in the socio-cultural, socio-territorial and socio-cognitive dimensions, as a determining factor in the satisfaction of national tourists. and foreigners in terms of destination, service and infrastructure. The design was non-experimental, with a correlational scope and a mixed approach; The following data collection techniques were used: semi-structured interview with 24 residents and a survey of 396 residents and 396 tourists. For the treatment of quantitative information, the software STATIS Dual and MPLS (Multiway partial least squares) were used. It was determined that the social perception in the three communes is relatively similar, with the socio-cultural dimension being the best scored because it is linked to the tourist development of Olón and Montañita; while, there is a significant difference between the communes in terms of tourist satisfaction, placing Montañita as the leader in all dimensions of the variable, followed by Olón and Valdivia. With an adjustment of 69%, the MPLS model directly related the variables, implying that any change in the perception of residents affects the satisfaction of tourists.
