The objective of this work was to determine the efficiency index of companies in the manufacturing sector of Ecuador in a spatial approach, both at the provincial and regional levels. To calculate the efficiency, the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method is used; then a regression model was used for panel data series with more than 19,000 observations, to identify the relationship between efficiency and the study variables. The results concluded that companies with low technological aggregation such as the province of Pastaza have higher efficiency (0.9527), followed by Galapagos and Los Ríos; and the efficiency of companies in the country is influenced by location and urbanization, as well as capital.
