In medical sciences, ionizing radiation is used for diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional purposes. But the exposure of workers represents a risk to their health. The objective is to identify clinical alterations in the health of personnel exposed to ionizing radiation in hospitals. The research consists of an exploratory systematic review, searches were carried out in Spanish, English and Portuguese in the Google Academic and SemanticScholar metasearch engines, as well as in Scopus, ScienceDirect, PubMed, LILACS, SciELO and the Cochrane library. The investigation made it possible to demonstrate the existence of different clinical alterations in the health of the exposed personnel. These include the role of radiation in the incidence of cancers such as leukemia and various lymphomas, infertility, both male and female, eye conditions such as cataracts, and alterations in thyroid function.
