ALCIVAR TOALA, Mallury Elizabeth. Sex, gender and sustainable development. A look from Ecuador. Revista San Gregorio [online]. 2022, vol.1, n.49, pp.187-201. ISSN 2528-7907.

Discrimination against women is a practice in which a wide and varied set of factors influences. Its understanding and study requires looking at the interaction of these, by conditioning a social behavior that ends up lacerating, with more subtle or open ways, the lives of female people. The objective of this article is to address the multidimensional roots of the gender problem that are essential in the social fabric, incorporating for this the formulations of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) embodied in the 2030 Agenda approved by the United Nations Organization in September 2015. The study was based on a qualitative methodology and hermeneutics that provided a broad view of the set of social factors that intervene in the behavior of the sex-gender relationship. A reflection is provided that draws the attention of specialists, politicians, community leaders and academics, on the importance and need to attend to the importance of the gender approach for the fulfillment of the goals declared by the SDGs with a cross-cutting approach.
