Abstract

The Ecuadorian government delivers social housing through total or partial financing programs throughout the Ecuadorian territory. The present work has the following objectives: to evaluate the thermal-energetic performance of the social housing in the Rocafuerte Pichota housing development in Rocafuerte canton in the province of Manabí, by means of in-situ temperature measurements; to perform simulations of the housing using the SIMEDIF program by entering data to monitor the thermal conditions of the housing, and to correlate the measurements-simulations; and to determine the thermal perception of the users of the housing in the development. The results showed that the house has a poor thermal-energetic performance, due to the climate conditions of the area and the construction system of the house. In spite of the diagnosis of the thermal performance of the house, the users rate the comfort of their house as good.
