The aim of this paper is to measure the factors that influence the motivation and retention of knowledge workers (KW). It is a quantitative research with a mixed, correlational-transectional and non-experimental approach. The population was KW from the industrial-technological sector of the city of San Luis Potosí, Mexico. It was found that the aspects in which KW achieve levels of satisfaction in their jobs are those related to challenging work, followed by autonomy in the performance of their tasks, as well as innovation and the organizational climate, also that it is necessary to attend to the work-life balance. This research contributes to understand the motivational factors of KW that influence their retention in the mexican context.
