Universities are the center for the development of knowledge, they house the professionals with the best experience, Peruvian university law establishes a maximum age of 75 years for teaching. the demands of adapting to new technologies, conducting research, cause a decrease in work capacity, due to greater demand: physical and mental. On the other hand, there are few studies that address this situation. The objective of the study was to identify the relationship between occupational stress and perceived work capacity in older teachers, 129 appointed teachers over 60 years were surveyed, the occupational stress questionnaire (CEO) was used, and the Perceived work capacity (CTP) questionnaire, both instruments were validated, their contents by five experts and reliability by Cronbach's alpha. The normality test was performed using Kolmogorov-Smirnov, obtaining a p <0.05, which shows that both variables do not have a normal distribution, using Spearman's Rho = -0.601 with a P value of 0.00 **. Conclusion: there is a moderate negative relationship between occupational stress and perceived work capacity in Peruvian teachers of advanced age.
