The indiscriminate use of pesticides has caused the appearance of diseases and ailments due to the influence that these have had on the human organism, for which there are several research projects in which the use of pesticides is related to the increase in the levels of TSH and increasing the chances of alterations in the thyroid gland such as nodules, cysts and cancer. In the Chisilivi community, Mulliquindil parish, Salcedo canton, Cotopaxi province, the existence of a high rate of thyroid problems has been evidenced, in addition there is a tendency of those who suffer from it, and they are those who work in the agricultural sector and use or have presented exposure pesticides within their activities. The main objective of this work was to establish a direct relationship between thyroid alteration and exposure to certain pesticides called endocrine disruptors. The methodology used is a descriptive cross-sectional study, the exposure to pesticides was correlated with the number of thyroid alterations found, through analysis of thyroid function in the blood and thyroid ultrasound. The present study demonstrated that there are higher TSH values ​​in people exposed to pesticides than in those who have not had contact with them, which reveals a higher prevalence of thyroid disorders in these people.
