University extension as a substantive process, based on its purpose of promoting culture, allows more flexibility and speed for dialogical exchange with society to achieve university social relevance. That is why it is necessary to improve its management and develop viable, feasible and easily understood indicators, hence the objective of this work is to determine the quality indicators for the university extension process, according to the objectives of this process, the institution and the environment. A concurrent mixed methodology was used with the presence of theoretical and empirical methods. In correspondence with process management, the quality indicators of the six processes that make up the macro-process of University Extension at the University of Havana and the four key success factors were implemented. The indicators implemented during four academic years allowed the continuous improvement of the extension process and the evaluation of the impact of the contribution of this process to society and the institution, according to the environment and in favor of social development.
