The objective of this assignment is to value the economic impact of the effects of the flood of February 2019, on the income of households in the La Unión parish in the canton of Santa Ana, Manabí, Ecuador. The economic valuation is expressed in US dollars, through the losses in: infrastructure, personal property and fixtures, growing areas, animals and other goods and how much this represents in the income of an affected home. A sample survey was applied to 101 households in a universe of ten sites located in the flood zone. For the analysis, a multiple regression model was used with a dependent variable called “Income” and the independent variables "Loss in production" (Pprod) and "Loss in the home" (Pdom), which is excluded from the model because it is not significant. The results show that the losses suffered in affectations to households amount to 60,484.00 USD, while in productive losses a total of 213,481.00 USD is estimated. It is concluded that the flood caused great losses, which strongly affected household income, which on average is not more than USD 6,000 per year.
