The objective of this study is to evaluate the biological risks to which professionals in clinical laboratories are exposed in their working hours, research that was carried out using the BIOGAVAL method in clinical laboratories in the city of Portoviejo during the 2019 period, in which They collect observational data, field data and the qualitative-descriptive methodology is applied since it is intended to identify the processes carried out by the analysts in the laboratory and therefore their effect or not in the face of biological risks. This qualitative-descriptive research by means of which the workplace is determined where the greatest probability of a possible affectation with biological agents, the degree of exposure and the severity of the consequences of a possible damage is found. It was identified that two of the biological agents are at the limit of biological action for which their need to improve hygienic measures is necessary to reduce the risk, despite the fact that currently clinical laboratories maintain biosafety standards as a policy to follow and They are aware of the work or work they do.
