MIELES ALAVA, José Carlos. Perception of voice disability in teachers of higher education unit. Revista San Gregorio [online]. 2020, n.39, pp.177-190. ISSN 2528-7907.  https://doi.org/10.36097/rsan.v1i39.1379.

The voice has been a working instrument since primitive times, in turn the means of communication and the main working tool for teachers and educators. The main objective of the following investigation is to know the vocal perception of higher education teachers through the VHI-30 test, plus a questionnaire of questions associated with habits and conditions, and the SPSS v.25 software was used for its tabulation. In the research, 95 higher education teachers were surveyed, of which only 77 surveys were taken into account. 9.1% of the sample presented moderate vocal disability; 88.3% mild disability, and 2.6% no disability. No statistical significance was found with any of the variables related to work habits and conditions. Many higher education teachers in the country do not care about their vocal condition and do not take proper care of their voice, unaware that in the long term they could have vocal disability problems that will affect their work and daily life.
