Abstract

CASTILLO QUINTERO, Humberto Pastor; HENRIQUEZ CORONEL, María Angélica  and  TUBAY ZAMBRANO, Fanny. Validation of an Instrument to evaluate Attitudes towards Gender Equality in University Students. Revista San Gregorio [online]. 2020, n.38, pp.100-118. ISSN 2528-7907.  https://doi.org/10.36097/rsan.v1i38.1256.

The analysis of the attitudes that the education students of the Technical University of Manabí - UTM have towards gender equality, is of great importance, when studying a basic attitudinal element in the profile of future teaching professionals, since these attitudes are frequently transferred, and therefore perceived and imitated by the generations of infants and young people immersed in the Ecuadorian educational system. The general objective of this study is to validate by the ACTIG questionnaire, developed for detection of attitudes that promote gender inequality. The study is part of the positivist methodological paradigm, with a quantitative approach. It is applied to a sample of 290 students. The instrument used for data collection is structured based on three dimensions: sociocultural, personal and relational. The data derived from the scale is analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 statistical package. The results obtained reflect that the ACTIG is an instrument with high discriminant levels, reliability and construct validity.

Keywords : ACTIG, attitude towards gender equality; dimension; university education students; psychometric analysis.
