This paper aims to characterize the process of linking with the USGP Society, based on its contribution to the integration of university processes, from a research perspective, at the San Gregorio University of Portoviejo, Ecuador. A concurrent mixed methodology was used, where the systemic approach method allowed the study of Linking as an integrative process of university management. A conception of the process of Linking with the Society was developed and implemented in order to respond to the real needs of the community, using investigative tools that allow diagnosing the true problem and then contributing from science to its solution. The conception implemented allowed to obtain notorious results in the articulation of the substantive functions and contributed to raise awareness among all the actors about the importance of this process in the integral training of competent professionals committed to society, while assuming the University social mission as a field of study.
