The cooperative sector of the Popular and Solidarity Economy plays a fundamental role in the social economic development of the formal and informal sectors, the fundamentals of creation of financial companies have purposes based on mutual assistance between the partners that make up the community for growth of entrepreneurship and social welfare. The objective of this research is to determine the entrepreneurial characteristics of the Cooperative Sector of the Province of El Oro. The methodology applied is a non-experimental longitudinal panel design, a test was applied to 90 registered financial and non-financial cooperatives In the Institute of Popular and Solidarity Economy, the results show that the model is statistically acceptable, based on three entrepreneurial characteristics of achievement, planning and power. The conclusions allow training programs to be established to improve entrepreneurial and cooperative characteristics based on the principles of solidarity and reciprocity.
