This research focuses its analysis object on one of the fundamental pillars of Administrative Law: the administrative procedure as a generic category. To carry it out, four sections have been structured, in which reference is made to the conceptualization of this institution, its technical-legal evolution and its main characteristics. These aspects constitute the basis from which the research objective is based: characterize the administrative procedure regulated in the recent Organic Administrative Code of Ecuador, revealing its main successes and anomalies, in order to present lines for its improvement as reflected in the conclusions. It is intended to encourage research on this subject and draw guidelines for its scientific interpretation, taking into account the limited bibliography in this regard in Ecuador.
