Private international law resolves legislative disparity and helps indirectly regulate relations between conflicting actors. The legal framework of private international law allows confidence in civil and commercial transactions, in negotiation processes. The purpose is to take a tour of the doctrines of the main exponents in the different systems of private international law. The methodology used was the method of analysis and synthesis in different legal documents through the logical historical method that was an important tool in the search for the emergence in several countries, highlighting several personalities who made their contributions in the development of private international law. The results show the proposal of an organizational scheme adopted in the study that allowed to provide a sequence of events in its emergence of private international law. It concludes by making a historical elaboration on the thinking and legislative practice of private international law.
