The incisive-molar hypomineralization syndrome is becoming more frequent every day, it is identified as a qualitative alteration of the enamel, with lesions generated by lack of mineral in it and that can range from mild to severe. The objective of the research is to explore data on incisive-molar hypomineralization, know its prevalence and causal factors. The information search was carried out through a systematic review of 36 articles in the databases; PUBMED, Lilacs and reviews in the Cochrane Library, applying the keywords; molar incisor hypomineralization, molar incisor hypomineralization. With the study of the variables; prevalence, causes and treatment. The results obtained showed that the prevalence of MIH in the last 10 years varies between 2.8% to 46%. Among the causes were prenatal factors such as: hypertension, gestational diabetes, infections, use of medications, among others, and postnatal: gastrointestinal disturbances, respiratory problems, chickenpox, rubella, childhood rashes, mumps, use of aines and antibiotics and factors environmental. And among the treatments were desensiblizers and fluoride varnishes before restoring, mouthwashes, with CPP-ACPF. Concluding that it is necessary to make an accurate diagnosis in order to perform a correct treatment.
