Abstract

ALARCON BARCIA, Noelia; SANTOS ZAMBRANO, Thaináh Bruna; BARREIRO MENDOZA, Nataly  and  CEDENO SANDANO, Fabián. Comparison of the shape of the teeth with the temperament. Revista San Gregorio [online]. 2019, n.33, pp.43-49. ISSN 2528-7907.  https://doi.org/10.36097/rsan.v1i33.894.

This research aimed to relate the shape of the teeth with the temperament between men and women from 18 to 25 years old. A correlational, comparative study was carried out by means of 60 patients treated at the Dental Clinic of the Polyclinic of the San Gregorio University of Portoviejo. The color test was applied to determine the temperament. There was concordance of the square shape and phlegmatic temperament with 33.3%, the oval shape with melancholic temperament with 33.3%, rectangular shape with angry temperament with 23.3% and triangular shape with the sanguineous temperament with the 10.0%. With the results of the study it is generally concluded that there is no relationship between the shape of the teeth and the temperament in men and women, however, in a particular tooth shape and temperament the coincidence is very marked, which warns us that this method is not effective in oral rehabilitation treatments and that it can be used in conjunction with other methods for the process.
