This article shows the progress that has been made in Ecuador with respect to recognizing the right of persons with disabilities to elect and be elected, and, with that, the electoral mechanisms that have been taken to enable compliance with it. The case of the “Vote at home” project is presented, which became a pilot for an emblematic project of the National Electoral Council and the results obtained in four electoral processes. In addition, the experiences of three countries (Paraguay, The Dominican Republic and Honduras) that replicated the Ecuadorian experience in their own countries are collected.
