Abstract

The purpose of this research is to carry out an analysis of the Organizational Strengthening program of the IEPS (Popular and Solidarity Economy Institute), aimed at the UEPS (Popular Economic Units) of the city of Portoviejo, which consists in the development of training projects to improve the technical, organizational capacities of its stakeholders. The research process was developed with primary and secondary research sources, through a review of the current legal regulations, aimed at the popular and solidary economic sector, the Constitution of Ecuador, the National Development Plan 2013-2017 and other reference documents that support this sector. Among the obtained data, it was obtained that despite being the clear regulation and there are efforts by the IEPS to improve the process of organizational strengthening, there are shortcomings in the execution of the program. It is determined that the application does not have management, monitoring and control tools in the management processes, which hinders the continuous improvement and sustainability of the project. It is necessary to promote the technical and organizational skills from the individual to transform the associativity, starting from a youth leadership so that through the new generations the sustainable development of the UEPS of the city of Portoviejo is fostered.
