The objective of this research is to identify the clinical characteristics, etiology and relationship with the papilloma virus of Heck’s disease or multifocal hyperplasia to facilitate the correct diagnosis. a systematic review of the literature was performed based on data such as Scielo and Lilacs, there was no restriction in year of publication and geographical area. The largest number of cases was observed in Venezuela and Mexico, the predominant race was the Indigenous, in other countries of South america the incidence of the disease was similar and in Ecuador few cases reported by the literature were found, due to the few investigations carried out about this disease. In all studies conducted on the subject there is presence of human papilloma virus associated with Heck’s disease. There are different opinions regarding the etiology of this disease, factors such as: traumatic friction, genetic predisposition, etc. and sexual transmission is ruled out.
