Abstract

The objective of this work is to systematize the relationship between innovation, associativity and social cohesion for the development of rural plantain producing communities in the province of Manabí, Ecuador. An analysis of the updated literature and specialty in the subjects studied was made, evidencing the need to integrate banana producers in an innovative vision that taxes the social cohesion of its members and the communities that depend on this type of production. Innovation is considered as the transformation that allows the improvement and improvement in the business context, which linked to associativity allows integration and welfare mechanisms with social belonging of individuals collectively. The role of associativity is to improve the socioeconomic and cultural conditions of small banana producers and contribute to inclusive and sustainable local progress; achieve a favorable impact in the improvement of income of the producers and increase of employment and reduction of rural migration. All this in a permanent contribution to the social cohesion between the producers, their families and the community directly and indirectly dependent on the production of bananas.
