The objective of this work is to foster some reflections on the improvement plan within the framework of the processes of accreditation of quality in the institutions of higher education. This, has made a documentary investigation of systematized in University contexts. among the most significant findings are that in very few cases the fundamentals underpinning the methodology applied, are presented, the subjects involved in its formulation and techniques used. as main conclusion arises that the permanent and sustainable improvement acquires meaning and is impact is visible, if the improvement plan is founded and develops through a process adequately planned, organize, executed and evaluated, that meets the requirements that become a proactive quality management, in this perspective of a formation of quality as a project of institutional significance, but with wide social projection.
