Abstract

We present the partial results of the research “continuous training strategy for the didactic management of the training and development of research competences developed at the Universidad Estatal del Sur de Manabí”, which aimed to detect the shortcomings for the continuing training of university teachers. For this purpose, the following indicators were taken: institutional management and self-management for continuing teacher education. Instruments such as surveys and interviews were designed and applied to gather information from teachers and authorities. The results provided certainty that both institutional management and selfmanagement for continuing teacher training need to be strengthened through the implementation of strategies that guarantee this training.
