Resumen

FOA TORRES, Jorge Gabriel. Sustainable development policies in the province of Córdoba, Argentina: a comparative analysis from the political theory of discourse. E&c [online]. 2018, vol.1, n.6, pp.181-202. ISSN 2477-9245.  https://doi.org/10.37228/estado_comunes.v1.n6.2018.75.

This article presents a comparative analysis of public policies of sustainable development in Argentina from a post-Marxist approach. On the one hand, the policies of environmentally sound management of hazardous waste implemented in Córdoba since the 1990s. On the other hand, the sustainable development policies of regional economies developed in Villa Maria in the late 2000s, especially in relation to the initiative of clusters development oriented to the cheese production of the central region of the Province of Córdoba, Argentina. The central thesis is that the two comparative policies are emblematic, in each case, of two contradictory political logics: the logic of environmental technique and the logic of sustainable sovereignty. In this sense, while the first logic gives primacy to the policies of corporate self-control and the state registry function, identifying Transnational Corporations as the main protagonists of sustainable development, the second logic gives centrality to State in the promotion and financing of sustainability focusing on the role of the actors of the social economy in such a process.
