In the new millennium, after the transformations and political, economic and social consequences, product of the neoliberal project and in the face of the presence of organized and mobilized social actors, from the government has implemented, in the context of the ‘left turn’, varied intervention strategies in the social item, in Argentina and many countries of Latin America. The present article aims to contribute to the discussions on the relationship between State, civil society and market in the field of social politics in Argentina. In terms of objectives and from the review of secondary sources, it seeks to analyze the relationships between social politics and the agro-food model during the several governments in the post-neoliberal context, identifying the political, economic and social strategies deployed from the State, but also those practices and meanings of daily appropriation by its users, avoiding an instrumental focus approach to them. In this last direction, towards the end, the case of the Asignación Universal por Hijo (Universal Child Allowance) will be presented on the food dimension.
