Abstract

This work reflects on the images produced and / or mediated by digital technological devices, specifically images that emerge within the field of contemporary Chilean art, which contribute to orient the discussion around the representational problems of an algorithmic visual regime. Specifically, this article proposes the hypothesis that in light of the review of certain practices present in contemporary Chilean art that work with algorithmic language, it becomes necessary to update the theoretical framework with which we analyze contemporary artistic practices. for which both the notion of visionic (Virilio, 1998) and that of invisible image (Paglen, 2019) provide us with a starting point from which to think about the relationship between art and digitality within the new context of machinic vision.
