Abstract: Figura was the first experimental poetry collection that José Antonio Cáceres intended as a book. Written between 1966 and 1973, it emerged in parallel with Cáceres’s evolution from concretism to lettrism, bordering on kinetic poetry, which influenced the multiple forms of expression found in the visual poems that make up the collection. The first edition was produced by Emilia Oliva and published by the University of Extremadura (UEx) as a facsimile of the unpublished originals that were preserved by Fernando Millán for almost half a century. The publication of these poems, which represent a fundamental landmark in Cáceres’s experimental trajectory, makes them available to a much wider audience.
