This paper refers to analysis from the working group «Otras Derivas DIY» in the documental collection of the oldest Ecuadorian newspaper. From 2018- 2020, using an exquisite corpse methodology, the working group enhance the importance of the processual in the search of a narrative that promotes the philosophy of «do it yourself» within the UArtes community. The «El Telegrafo’s» archives launched pedagogical practices through open workshops guided by guest artists; where photography, video, collage and drawing were interwined. It was driven from analogical to digital, starting with the fanzine aesthetics for decontextualization of texts and photographs, moving to critical and creative gaze of visuality in order to comprehend the daily saturation of images and to show up. «Mapping the archives» is a result of this working group.
