The following article depicts the curatorial texts that accompanied the exhibition “Paisaje/Territorio. Imaginarios de la selva en las artes visuales” (Ecuador: 1907-2019), held at the Museo Antropológico y de Arte Contemporáneo (MAAC) in Guayaquil, from August 29 to November 24, 2019. The exhibition had five thematic cores that constitute a journey through the different imaginaries of the jungle in the history of art produced in Ecuador: "Colonial survivals", "Magic jungle, lost paradise", "An imaginary border", "The jungle and the ecological debates", and "The jungle on the border between art and activism".
