GIL CORREDOR, Claudia Adelaida. MAYAN TEXTILE AESTHETICS: ARTISTIC RESEARCH APPLIED IN A DIDACTIC MATERIAL FOR CHILDREN. Índex [online]. 2020, n.10, pp.268-280. ISSN 2477-9199.  https://doi.org/10.26807/cav.vi10.361.

This article exposes the results of an investigation over the Mayan textile art in the highlands of Chiapas, in Mexico’s southeast. They were able to identify the logic that the Mayan weavers have used since ancestral times in their designs and embroidery. These results were used as a proposal for teaching the goal of logical thinking in young children employing a video game based on Mayan mathematics implied in the textile work. Through the exposure of this process, it aims to point out the unique experience of artistic investigation and it’s possible methodical strategies and creation.
