Abstract

MACAS PAREDES, José Luis. EQUINOCTIAL PATH - INTYSHAYAKLLIPLLAYÑAN SPECIFIC TIME-SPACE ART PROJECT. Índex [online]. 2020, n.10, pp.75-92. ISSN 2477-9199.  https://doi.org/10.26807/cav.vi10.138.

This text aims to present the process of artistic research, the execution of the project Equinoctial Tour - Intyshayakllipllayñan, and its elements, carried out by José Luis Macas Paredes for the XIV Biennial of Cuenca "Living Structures, Art as a Plural Experience", marking as fundamental milestones the equinox of March 21 and September 21, 2018. In this process, geoastronomical observation and study were combined with agro-festive calendars, ancestral celebrations and rituals, to become an exercise in memory, through contemporary art objects installed on the facades of Cuenca, or to be carried in the procession that was part of a "minka action", through the dance, the sounds, and the food that in the traced route emphasized the old equinoctial marks on the Cuencan city, and through the exhibition that remembered each one of those steps, gathering objects, video-records, drawings and photographs.

Keywords : Equinox; Contemporary Art; Ecuador; Apparent Sun mouvement; Minka..
