Abstract

MONDRAGON BENITO, Daniela  and  PEREZ GIL, Valeria Ysunza. "Germinating on asphalt", from imprisonment to freedom, a proposal through dance. Índex [online]. 2019, n.8, pp.176-183. ISSN 2477-9199.  https://doi.org/10.26807/cav.v0i08.289.

Inside the violent environments in which Mexican urban systems are submerged, women are the most disadvantaged ones. Many of them are deprived of their freedom in jails, where they cannot take care of her own health and bodies, their movements are controlled.

Haninhad the opportunity to approach this reality of imprisonment through an invitation from the Collective Hermanas en la Sombra which works with creative writing and literature as a way of freedom. What Haninproposes from this approach and the previous experience with the project Germinando, is to work with their bodies and its movement, through our workshops called SomosSemilla (“We are Seed”). The idea is to create empathy, community, self-care and freedom of their own territories, which are their bodies; and eventually transform the spaces in which they develop limited daily between four walls.

Keywords : women; bodies; imprisonment; dance; movement; city; violence; liberty.
