Abstract

CANDELARIA VAZQUEZ, Julieta  and  VIDAL YEVENES, Libertad. Art, Body and Complaint: The use of the body as a critical support in the public space, a glance from the performances of the collective La YeguadaLatinoamericana. Índex [online]. 2019, n.8, pp.152-159. ISSN 2477-9199.  https://doi.org/10.26807/cav.v0i08.274.

In the following article we analyze the work of an artistic group called YeguadaLatinoamericana. Their performances are social and political claims, surrounding issues like body, feminism, women's rights, etc. Not only we try to analyze these claims but also how they're executed: putting the female body on the public space. Politics, art, body and feminism generate new artistic forms not only focused in aesthetical criteria but also in political and social demands.

Keywords : art; performance; feminism; body; politics; memory.
